Slack Ticktick
TickTick is one of the most popular task management application alongside applications like Todoist and Things 3. It’s well-known for it’s fast development cycle.
We had the opportunity to have a chat with the co-founder of TickTick, Zhimim Chen, about the future of this growing task manager and the new features they are currently working on.
It is a personal knowledge management and sharing system inspired by Roam Research, built on Visual Studio Code and GitHub It allows you to own your data while being free, open source, and extensible to suit your personal workflow. TickTick has folders while Todoist has nested projects. Todoist now shows section names in today on desktop. TickTick has task descriptions as well as comments, and you can also create notes. TickTick has both checklists and nested subtasks. In TickTick recurring tasks have new uncompleted subtasks whereas in Todoist you have to uncomplete them. TickTick Premium lets you compile your tasks in a to-do list and then block time for those tasks on your calendar. But TickTick offers a feature that the others don't: a Pomodoro timer. Quick R&D
TickTick is not only a To-do list app, it integrates with other powerful features like Pomo Timer, Habit, Calendar, Location Reminder and Kanban view. They want to keep the app very easy to use but also flexible and customizable for experienced users.

🔮 Future plans in 2020
Markdown
A note-taking function that’s going to be better connected with tasks and the ability to use Markdown to format it. That’s why TickTick’s detail page looks more like a note-taking app, they are trying to not keep tasks and notes separate to provide a better workflow to the user.

Smarter

They want to make TickTick smarter for a better user experience for busy people. Like being able to generate meeting agenda for users based on their schedule in the calendar that would be helpful, for example, for HR professionals.
Internationalization

An improved internationalization support will be introduced and it will work enabling, for example, the voice input with different languages to add tasks.
