Buy a new 5D Mark II - $2500 - + the $220 you've paid to Canon already. Replace the shutter - $640 - bring the camera to 'like new' condition; Buy a used 5D on Ebay - $1000 - $1200 (plus the $220 you've paid to Canon) - and then wonder how the former owner really treated the camera; My humble suggestion - first choice - buy a 5D Mark II, but if. Product Model: EOS 5D Mark II. The more you buy, the more you save.
- Check Canon EOS Shutter Count and Get Live View Usage Detalization. ShutterCheck reads and decodes shutter information directly from the internal memory of your camera. For newer Canon EOS models such as the 1D X Mark II, 5D Mark IV and 5DS the app displays an extended shutter information.
- When I was able to get the shutter count off of my 5D Mark II and 5D Mark III on my Mac computer in the past, it was by using an app that I downloaded from the internet. That is what I am looking for now and I am not able to find one yet and I am curious if there will be one sometime in the near future (or if anyone has seen one).
- Most shutter count programs don't include Liveview actuations. Magic lantern does. The image above shows 3,883 photo actuations (rounded up to 4K), 4767 total shutter actuations of which 884 was for Liveview or Video. Magic Lantern has updated the shutter count display to avoid confusion, and it now looks like this.

There is a built-in shutter counter in 5D MK III. Just go to Menu, then Battery Info, and voila! Funny thing is that the camera's manual doesn't even mention this. Another strange thing is why bury this info in the 'Battery Info'? I thought I'd share this in case you didn't know about this...

The actual shutter count would be a nice feature too have in camera tho Ha, I got completely fooled, then! You see, I got this camera about 2 months ago and the number of shutter count showed 289, which is just about right given the number of shots I've taken since getting it. Okay, I thought the camera was 'smarter' than it really is! The real built-in shutter counter would be pretty nice...

I have one canon OEM battery and two Wasabi. I haven't charged batteries in a month. one Wasabi I just got down to 5% and it shows 782 photos and I had alot of chimping and eyefi use and this was in the camera for two weeks. The other one is still sitting at 30% and shows 711 photos. These Wasabi are awesome. Yup, I use Wasabi for both my 5D3 and XA10 and can't be more content with them.

For everyone to see. Anders LOG IN TO REPLY |

No need to mess with installing/removing magic lantern for just shutter count. GEAR LIST LOG IN TO REPLY |
